.Romance.

The final foundation project has suddenly drawn upon us and with its arrival I can scarcely believe how quickly this year has flown by! Entitled 'Romance' I have decided to research and explore the history and definition of romance. So far the project has been mainly research based and I keep getting distracted by all kinds of sources of inspiration...ranging from Georgian/Regency times to Van Gogh's Roses and after watching David Attenborough's Life documentary on Birds, I have to say they seem to have cropped up in my information file too.

I've also decided that as an initial source of inspiration I am going to look at my great grandparents. From stories that I have been told about their relationship, as well as photographs that I have seen of them together I can't think of a couple who could better opitomise romance than them.

Her.Royal.Highness.The.Duchess.of.York.

After briefly watching a snippet of a documentary featuring Elizabeth Bowes-Loyn, The Queen Mother, I must say a great intrigue about this great, often overlooked, woman grew inside me. In her own right she was a strong, inspirational woman who I've decided I'm going to find out more about!

Julian.and...

Recently stumbled across a number of pictures I took from a lecture held by Julian Roberts showing his method of subtraction cutting back in December 09.

The lecture was amazing! His unorthodox method of pattern cutting was really inspirational and has made me think a lot more about different materials and methods I can use to create my own products. I also really loved the concept of his use of guerilla advertising and how you just have to put your work out there in anyway you can...something to think about...

my.room

Here are just a couple of numbers hanging in my room. Mostly from UK Vogue, Wonderland *I think*, Another Magazine and Noi.se. Love the photography and variance in representation of femininity.
